Most autistic children have stereotypical behaviors. Behavior patterns span the spectrum of the autistic diagnosis: there is less autistic behavior in a high functioning child compared with a low functioning child. Why do these stereotypical behaviors appear?

To answer this question we must apply what we know about the development of the human brain. Humans slowly ascended from lower life forms to what we are today by a process of natural selection. Each further development had to survive the continual battle for existence, being against being, species against species. This process has gone on for many millions of years.

Autism is Characterized by the Degree that the Reptilian Brain Takes Charge

It is believed that the human brain evolved in three main stages.

Its ancient and primitive part is the reptilian brain. The reptilian brain appears to be largely unchanged by evolution and we share it with all other animals that have a spine. The reptilian brain controls body functions required for sustaining life. These functions include breathing and body temperature. At this level of evolution behavior is related to the survival of the organism and responses are instinctive and automatic.

I believe that in the autistic child the overwhelming  number of stressors (vaccines, toxins, drugs, initial compromised health) block communication between the different parts of the brain and, most importantly, the overwhelming number of stressors drives the organism into a survival mode.

What are the Implications?

In the autistic child, then, it is my belief that the primary and controlling brain is no longer the neocortex but, instead, the child is functioning primarily through instinctual drives arising from the now more-dominant primitive reptilian brain. Survival mechanisms predominate and elicit instinctual, self-defensive behavior. Many of the functions residing in the neocortex, including emotions, thinking, and concern for others are pushed into the background as survival mechanisms predominate.

The instinctual behavior arising from the primitive reptilian brain takes precedence in maintaining the survival of the organism because now, in this attacked and weakened organism, survival is all that matters. The hard-wiring for survival takes precedence and overrides the brain functions arising in the neocortex.

I also believe that many of the behavioral traits, those involving movement of the limbs or body, are  used as mechanisms of stress reduction. The body’s musculature is heavily populated with many nerves and sense organs. Sensory input is also hard-wired into the organism; it cannot thrive without sensory input and, therefore, seeks it by whatever means available. Self-stimming is an example.

Since many of the normal sensory input structures, such as vision and hearing, are poorly functioning, the body resorts to more primitive mechanisms of providing sensory input via the use of muscular movement.

An understanding of autism as a Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome is fully unexplored as of this time. The extent to which the reptilian brain takes over will determine the level of autism and provides a rationale for delineating the differences in the behavioral and functional spectrum we see in that range from high functioning to low functioning.

This is a recent theory stemming back only a few years. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the blame is falling upon the shoulders of the mercury preservative: Thimerosal.

That Thimerosal is a very bad actor is without doubt. But the notion that Thimerosal is the main factor in the autism and vaccinations relationship is far too short-sighted and is leading many caregivers to focus unduly on detoxing the autistic child’s body of mercury.

It was well understood by the homeopaths, even during the late 1800′s, that vaccines could have crippling effects on the human economy. They termed their after-effects as vaccinosis.

Their observations indicated that if a person had a reaction to being vaccinated, that the vaccine had “taken.” For those unfortunates in whom the vaccine did not “take,” it was believed that the individual was in no way affected.

Astute Observers Realized that the Vaccinated Person was Poisoned by the Vaccination Virus

What was called “taking” was, in fact, the body’s reaction to the vaccine which actually freed itself from the infectious action of the vaccine. For the poor soul in whom the vaccine did not “take,” the vaccine was, in reality, absorbed and the after-effect was that the person entered into a chronically diseased state.

Further observations were that the diseases manifested in many different forms: these included problems in the skin, nervous system, musculoskeletal system, and issues with one’s organs. And, this dates back more than 100 years.

The Paralysis of the Nervous System Increased with the Introduction of Vaccines in the 1800′s

These conditions pre-date the use of Thimerosal as a preservative for vaccines that began in the 1930′s. It is, therefore, reasonable to assume that Thimerosal is not the cause of autism and is implicated as only one, among many, contributing factors. Autism and vaccinations are much more than just the effect of the mercury preservative.

It’s also understood that the injection of vaccines directly into the blood stream, a process that by-passes the first lines of defense of the body through which a naturally-acquired disease must pass, leads to a much more damaging effect.

Many of the viruses that are injected enter directly into the body’s genetic material and incite an immune system response whereby the immune system spends the rest of one’s life attacking these well-hidden and largely inaccessible viruses.

In Homeopathy, the Ears are Known as the Body’s Safety Valve

Any astute observer or parent can define the relationship between receiving a vaccine and the not-to-distant occurrence of an ear infection. Ear infections are treated by most physicians with anti-biotics (even though the Academy of Pediatricians recommends against treating ear infections with anti-biotics).

The anti-biotics become a further challenge for the body, further weakening its already compromised immune system.

It’s not uncommon to see blood tests in autisic children which show the existence of infection with the very diseases that the vaccinations were supposed to handle.

Because these kids are already immuno-compromised, they are unable to mount the expected antigen response that produces the antibodies against the disease.

Curing Autism will be Difficult Without Understanding the Concepts About Self-Healing

The idea of self-maintenance or self-healing is given little thought in the current medical model or treatment of autism.

It’s also believed that providing substances from the outside, such as very aggressive and complex nutritional supplement programs, is all that’s required to cure autism.

The First Step: Improve the Body’s Self-Healing Power

Treating this condition requires that we first stimulate the body’s self-healing power.

Only then can the body build the nutrients into new structures that it builds because it was stimulated to become stronger. We must know what products and programs can turn on this power if we are to cure autism.

• the expression, “Try this product, it’s great, and it’ll work for you,” ignores the idea that it isn’t the product that’s the most important factor in dealing with autism, or any disease, but rather the response of the individual to that product
• the most important feature of life is the adaptation response of a given individual to challenges
• I never hear any discussion about this idea by those who’re treating autism

To Cure Autism We Need to Understand How the Body Responds to Any Damaging Agent

Both in removing it and repairing any damage that was caused. Today, this is the missing element in all treatment protocols involving autism.

Autistic kids are very weak and very ill, the magnitude of which isn’t understood by most people.

This is largely because people have a hard time believing that these young people can be so thoroughly compromised at such a young age.

This is a chronic, unremitting disease that most believe is incurable.

Treating autism is an incredible challenge, one that’s all the more difficult because of the endless varieties of ideas that circulate in the treatment of autism community.

The first step in treating autism is to stimulate a self-healing adaptive response that makes the body stronger.

We must tap into the automatic in-born capacity to adapt and become stronger if we want to cure autism. This approach is never followed.

There’s an Order in Using Steps to Treat Autism

The idea of enhancing adaptation power is the basis of all types of training programs, say in:

• exercise
• music
• sports

Lets make increasing adaptation power the first step in treating autism.

This is what I do in my programs: I turn-on the body’s adaptation engine just like a personal coach so one’s own body can treat his autism and begin to cure it.

You need a personal coach who understands how the body works and understands how to “train” the body to heal and cure autism. There are specific products to turn-on the body’s adaptation response.

With this method the individual treats his own autism and the cure of autism is in his hands, not in the hands of someone other than himself.

“I’m afraid the diagnosis for your child is autism,” said the doctor.

Do you remember how those words took your breath away, made your heart break? You’d seen the symptoms for a while, but now, there was no doubt.

“What’s the cure for it,” were the next words you uttered after the bad news.

“There is no cure,” said the doctor.

The doctor is right about there being no cure, at least not by modern medicine. I’d argue that this condition arises largely as a result of the actions of modern medicine and the effects of environmental toxins. These, in my view, are the primary culprits in causing autism and PDD, ADD, and ADHD.

There are Thousands of Treatment Options, but You Should Know that Modern Medicine Contributes in Creating This Condition

If this is the case, Modern Medicine can only give you more of the same — and that won’t help.

After the diagnosis, the family works mostly with their physician, but many go out into the web and here they find thousands of treatment options. How can one make a choice?

There is a ton of mainstream and alternative information for dealing with developmental delays.

Most of the large support groups are committed to the model of health care provided by Modern Medicine. Drugs become the primary therapy. If you’re dissatisfied with that option, where can you turn to get sound advice about alternative methods?

It’s important to understand that most children diagnosed with these conditions don’t receive the diagnosis before they’re 12 months old. Many children, in fact, were developing normally previous to the diagnosis.

Many Parents Observed that Their Child Showed Signs of the Condition after an Anti-biotic Treatment or a Vaccination

Many parents noticed a gradual breakdown after repeated vaccinations. The medical community rigorously denies any connection to vaccines.

Trying to diagnose autism centers around a search for germs as the leading cause. Since treatments of germs with anti-biotics has led to no profound reduction in the condition, other ideas about its cause flourish.

Modern medicine stands by the Germ Theory and implicates germs as major culprits in the condition but parents, however, are looking for other answers. Damage from vaccines is the current cause of the day.

The opponents of the Germ Theory argue that the key issue is not the germ but the break down in the host defense system that allows germs to thrive. If this is true, then one must wonder about what causes the break down in host defenses?

Vaccines and Individual Susceptibility Are Keys

Susceptibility is key but this cannot be found when trying to diagnose autism. Vaccines and other drugs are superimposed upon the pre-existing susceptibility.

By the time a child has received his full quota of vaccines, with the all-to-common use of anti-biotics to deal with the ear and throat infections, most kids are either reaching the peak of the autistic spectrum or will do so very soon.

Could a long shopping list of suspects be the cause of autism?

So, What is the Cause of Autism?

In my view, autism is caused by the susceptibility (a profound systemic weakness, if you will) first, followed by an overwhelming number of stressors from the use of medicines and environmental toxins.

The outcome of these stresses is that the child’s system becomes overwhelmed. The body’s response is to resort to survival mechanisms and this response isn’t understood in the definition of autism.

OK…. This is what I want to tell everyone: When we first took my son to see Dr. Ellis he was only skin and bones. He was very pale with dark circles under his eyes. He was non-verbal and pretty much non-receptive. He was very sick and diagnosed with autism. My husband was very much a skeptic on the whole homeopathic stuff and was not sure if he really believed it would work.

Well, today, 18 months later, my son is perfect weight and height for his age. He also belongs to a gymnastics team: walks a balance beam; does somersaults; and jumps the horse. He goes everywhere with the family: movies, out to dinner, the mall and to friend’s houses. And this year, for the first time, he rode a sled down a very big hill over and over again. Last winter, he wouldn’t even touch the snow! Every day it’s something new.

We do many therapies and have a long way to go, but without the homeopathic remedies the others would mean nothing. It was the Base, Primary Step that Dr. Ellis said was needed to prepare him for the other things we needed to do for him. My son’s body is healing, allowing him to become part of this world. Dr. Ellis said from the beginning, we have to stick with it to see results and he was right. I am sure in the future I’ll be writing another letter to tell about my recovered son.
